Ladbrokes was one of the first UK Bookmakers to introduce the cash-out option into their online services. Added back in 2013 exclusively to their football betting markets, Ladbrokes has been at the forefront of the future innovation of the cash-out feature that is now popular among all bookmakers. Today, we are going to demonstrate why the Ladbrokes cash-out still holds the crown and why it’s valuable to all UK bettors.

What Is Cash Out?

Let’s start with the basics and covering what I mean when I say cash-out. In simple terms, cashing out is settling your sports bets before the event has finished. For example, you have put a chance on Manchester City to win against Liverpool, and Manchester City is up 1-0 with a few minutes to go. You could cash out your bet while Manchester City is in the lead to eliminate the chances of Liverpool scoring a last-minute equaliser, ruining your bet.

The apparent downside to cashing-out your football bet is that the price will be slightly less than if the bet was settled usually; many see this slight reduction as the fee of guaranteeing your winnings. If you need to know more, you can see our Cash out guide to help you understand the cash out concept further.

What Bets Can I Cash Out On At Ladbrokes?

This is where Ladbrokes shines.

Most online bookmakers have a lot of barriers that make it complicated for players to cash-out on bets that are likely to lose the bookmaker money. This is not an issue at Ladbrokes at all, with cash-out eligible on over 35 different sports ranging from popular markets such as football & horse racing to less common markets such as handball & water polo.

When it comes to betting types, Ladbrokes has no limitations. The majority of bookmakers limit the cash-out feature when it comes to free bets, combination bets and Trixie bets; this is a common frustration among bettors who lose a vast amount of money because of this. Ladbrokes are the only bookmaker I’m aware of to allow cash-out on all three of these betting types as easy as they make it. Although there are a few limitations to their cashing out on accumulators, we will cover these later on, but most players won’t be affected by these.

When should you cash out your bets?

It’s always a tricky question to answer but really, you should cash out when you really think your bet really won’t land, or if there is a very good chance it won’t come in. If you think the cash-out value is significant enough to end the bet and not lose it, then tap that cash out button.

If you have backed Palace for example to beat City and they are 1 nil up at half time, there is always a chance City can come back and score 4 in the second half. If the odds are good then you probably should cash out.

Why Wouldn’t You Be Able To Cash Out?

As I mentioned above, Ladbrokes do their best to reduce the number of limitations on cash out options, and this is clear to see. However, nothing is perfect, and the same is true when it comes to the Ladbrokes Cash-Out feature; they do put a few limitations in place, which may hinder the experience for a small percentage of the player base.

The first being that Ladbrokes do not allow cash-out on accumulators with 14 or more selections; most players won’t be affected by this as a 14-fold accumulator is very uncommon to see, but it is worth noting if you want to place a 14-fold accumulator at some point.

The second reason you may not be able to cash out is simply that your bet isn’t eligible for cash-out. Although Ladbrokes does provide an impressive amount of cash-out markets, not every single one is. A cash-out icon will sit next to the market as you place the bet, making it very easy for you to know about its cash-out eligibility. It would be nice to alert the user that the bet won’t be eligible for cash out before they place their bet.

The final reason as to why you may not be able to cash-out is that you have used a combination of free bets and your playable balance. To avoid this, place two separate wagers, 1 of which is using your free bet, and the other is using your playable balance.

Ladbrokes In-Play Cash Out

It’s hard to deny that the addition of the in-play feature turned the industry on its head, giving bettors the ability to bet on a game during its taking place. The apparent advantage of this is that bettors can get an idea of how the game is playing out and make educated bets.

Similar to the cash-out feature, it’s gone from a luxury feature at bookmakers only seen at the likes of William Hill to a necessity to be considered competitive in the UK. This competition has lead to bookies racing to implement the latest features to their in-play platform, in the attempt to attract more customers.

In recent years, live streaming has become a trendy addition among the UK’s leading bookmakers, which allow customers to view the action from their phone or computers with a click of a button, eliminating the days of looking up BBC Football Scores to see whether your bet has come in.

Ladbrokes are ahead of the pack when it comes to both, providing in-play betting on over 100 games at any one time, ensuring that there is always an in-play opportunity for everyone. It gets better when you know that they provide live streaming on over 75% of their in-play games, notably covering some of Europe’s major leagues such as Serie A, La Liga, and Bundesliga. Unfortunately, no bookmaker can provide coverage of the Premier League due to licensing.

Can I Cash Out In-Store Bets With Ladbrokes?

Yes, you can!

To cash out, you’ll need to sign up with their loyalty scheme, Ladbrokes The Grid. The Gris allows players to bridge the gap between online & in-store betting, keeping them both on one platform with one small handy card; this can be kept in your wallet or is small enough to be added to your keys.

Now every time you make a bet at a Ladbrokes store, ask the cashier to scan your card as you submit your bet, and this bet will be added to your Ladbrokes The Grid App. You can cash-out this bet using the app by heading over to the Ladbrokes Grid Cash out feature to view all your bets eligible for cash out. Cashing out will add the value to your account instantly and will void your ticket, stopping you from claiming the winnings twice.

Summary

From my experience with Ladbrokes and their cash-out feature, I’m more than confident in saying that it”s the best the industry currently offers. Boasting by far the most extensive library of online cash-out events across over 35 sports alongside providing players with the most value through cash-out, you’ll be in luck if you find any better.
